Mutiara Taman Negara
Although there are luxury resorts and hides dotted all around the park, the majority of Taman Negara accommodation is situated at the village of Kuala Tahan next to the entrance.
Here there are a few different options for places to stay, including some restaurants and even a ‘bar’ of sorts where visitors can sink a couple of drinks. All Taman Negara chalets and guesthouses can provide advice on where to visit and what to do. Many hides and campsites can be booked at the Park Headquarters (Tel: (09) 266 1122) and cost from RM2.

Durian Chalet: There are 10 comfortable Taman Negara chalets here sleeping from two to six people, along with a dorm for only RM10. Tel: (09) 266 8940. Chalets cost from RM25-50.
Mutiara Taman Negara Hotel: This is an upscale resort which still has a few comfortably dorm rooms as well at an eye-watering RM45. Tembeling Riverview Hostel and Chalets: Arguably the best budget option with thatched cottages featuring en suite bathrooms a bargain at RM25 while the dorms are the best in the area and only RM10 per person. There’s a decent book exchange as well. Tel: (09) 266 6766.
Teresek View Motel & Hostel: Simple place with friendly staff plus laundry, internet access and boatloads of information. Fan dorm cost RM10 with a/c dorm at RM20. Fan doubles RM60 a/c doubles at RM80. Tel: (09) 266 9744.

Agoh Chalet: Reasonable wooden Taman Negara chalets with twin rooms costing RM50, a room that sleeps four costing RM80 and family room for 10 costing RM100. Tel: (09) 266 9570.
