September 01-04: BookFest
Where: KLCC Convention Centre
When: 10:00 - 22:00
Bookworms swarm into the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre for the biggest book festival in South East Asia, BookFest @ Malaysia. Literature exhibited here comes from the entire region, with a programme that includes author meet-and-greets and international reading forums. Entry costs RM2.50, students and seniors free.

September 01-04: Penang Orchid Show

September 10: Ricky Xiao & Tiger Huan Live
Where: Penang International Sports Arena
When: 20:00 - 23:00
Two of Taiwan’s popular artists come to entertain Penang this September. Tiger Huang Xiao Hu’ deep voice and unique soulful style has attracted many fans over the years. Ricky Xiao Huang-Chi was born blind due to congenital cataracts but he never viewed his eyesight as a handicap and he started explore life and express himself through music.

September 17: Paradise Classical Film Festival
Where: Paradise Sandy Beach Resort, Georgetown
When: 09:00 - 22:00
A karaoke singing competition will be held in memory of the late great Tan Sri P.Ramlee , the famous Malaysian artist who contributed a massive amount to the Malaysian film and music industry. There will also be many cinematic treats put on throughout the event for all ages.

September 23: Arthur's Day
Where: Irish bars over KL
When: from noon
This Guinness-sponsored event promoted good old fashioned Irish cheer and merriment in drinking holes across the city with live music and more as KL chooses to take part for the third year in a row.

Sept 27 - Oct 03: Malaysia Tennis Open
Where: Putra Bukit Jalil Stadium
When: all day
The world's top-ranking men's tennis players swing by the Putra World Stadium for the Malaysian Open Kuala Lumpur. Kicking off the start of the ATP World Tour's Asian leg.

Sept 28 - Oct 06: Navaratri
Where: Hindu temples around Penang
When: all day
For nine night devotees of goddess Dura Lakshmi take part in a colourful celebration through their energetic dances and multi-coloured clothes.
