December 01-04: Penang Jazz Festival
Where: Bayview Beach Resort, Batu Ferringhi
When: 10:00 - 23:00
Artists from the jazz and big band genre use this event as a platform to showcase their performances in a fun-filled and joyous atmosphere.

December 10-11: Pesta Dragon Boat Race
Where: Teluk Bahang Dam, Penang
When: 09:00 - 18:00
Enjoy a weekend of pulsating thrills and spills to the tune of vigorous beating of drums, strong thrust of oars and various stage performances as the dragon boat teams battle it out in the water to be the champions.

December 12-17: Children's Book Fair
Where: Putra World Trade Centre, KL
When: 10:00 - 21:00
The Kuala Lumpur Children Book Fair keeps kids occupied during their school holidays. Taking place at the Putra World Trade Centre, it also features animal petting sessions with the National Zoo and exhibitions by the Petrosains Discovery Centre.

December 17: All-Stars National Chingay Competition
Where: Espanade, Penang
When: 19:00 - 23:00
Look forward to chingay star contestants showing off their creativity, flexibility and superb skills with stunts in balancing the towering flag poles on their fingers, foreheads, shoulders and teeth.

December 18: Lion Dance Parade
Where: Padang Brown to City Hall
When: 19:30 - 23:00
Lion Dance troupe members will display their skills in balancing stilt poles during this annual street parade. The parade begins from Padang Brown and pass through the main streets of George Town before ending at Esplanade.

December 31: New Year’s Eve
Where: all over Malaysia
When: after dark
Malaysia gets crazy as inhabitants prepare for the party of the year with a host of star name acts performing for the last night of 2011 countdown.
